Tell Me You’re Joking
Tell Me You’re Joking leans into the taboo, popular, annoying, and entertaining subjects that rile us all up. This podcast will make those that say ”politics and religion are private” want to open up and engage. Based out of Flyover Country, St. Louis Missouri, host JB Anderson brings on guests that have a say, give a damn, and are not afraid to shoot it straight.

A lesbian, a marine vet, and a soccer dad walk into a bar... The punchline can be found in this episode. Check out my conversation with two dear, long-time friends from my hometown. We talk about so much of the chaos that is today's political, social, and neighborhood environment.

Aaron is a true renaissance man... no, really. Entrepreneur, husband, father, musician, songwriter, mustache grower, and author. He joined me to talk about his new book:
The Death of Compromise: How an unquenchable thirst for power, racism and media has killed political and cultural compromise in America. (Amazon)
We talk about the unfortunate inspiration for the piece (Charlie Kirk's murder), and the dots he connected looking backwards, talking to those who were part of the machine, and projecting forward into the "what if." We also discuss his other passion, music. Why being a middle-aged white guy that sings "dead country" songs has no hope, but loves it nevertheless.

Rachel Johnson has spent her whole career in healthcare. At Medi-Weight Loss her and her team are on the front lines of both new science via GLP-1's, old issues such as perimenopause, and connecting the dots between miracle drugs, the work needed to make it work, and the mindset necessary to do it all for the right reasons. On January 1st of 2026, Marc St Pierre was ready to start the New Year. A knock on the door early in the day from a neighbor would change everything... permanently.
What he soon discovered was that the lifeless body of his best friend, his husband, was sitting just feet away in his patrol car, with a self-inflicted wound that brought about his own "End of Watch."
Having lost my own brother Dana to suicide, Marc and I had a very candid, direct, unscripted conversation about our experiences. We talk about the lack of signs at the time that turned out to be somewhat prophetic in hindsight, the "what-ifs," and so much more. We talk about how we reacted to the inquiries, what we missed, and what justifiably makes us mad now, at them, for what they did.

Jim Goebel and Matthew Porter are two leading voices in the Data Center value prop argument here in the STL Region. Given their experience in the field, as well as telecom, and their entrepreneurial visions, we discuss how and why St. Louis could benefit greatly from the new wave. They lay out the argument for leaning into the taboo, explaining why it shouldn't be scary, why we can integrate the new technology into our existing footprint & infrastructure, and why if we don't... someone else will.
